Overall

Based in London, Currencies Direct is one of Europe’s’ leading foreign exchange specialists in terms of volume transacted and brand visibility.  The company was founded in 1996 by Mayank Patel, has over 300 employees with offices in various global locations including Spain, South Africa, Portugal and Canada.

Why Use Currencies Direct?

If you are used to using your bank to send money overseas you should be happily surprised with the rates on offer from Currencies Direct.  They save their clients an average of 3% (of transfer total) when compared to most banks which can be a considerable sum of money with larger sized transfers.

If you are comparing rates between Currencies Direct and other brokers then you should also find them to be pretty competitive.  We wouldn’t say they are the cheapest out there although they are a very secure company with a good credit rating and for many people; the peace of mind this brings will outweigh the slight saving provided elsewhere.

Customer Service wise, the company is up there with the best brokers and transfers are very quick.   Payments sent to low risk countries are often completed the same or next business day.

Those clients with South African Rand requirements should certainly consider contacting Currencies Direct.  They are the only broker with offices in South Africa and you will find transfers to go through much more smoothly than with other brokers or even banks.
